On 9th November me and my friends get to go for a 7th Asean Festival UKM that were held at Dectar. There is Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, and Korea. Thus, Korea is not a Asean country but they volunteer for participating.
This is one of the performance from Cambodia. This dance were called Robam Tep Apsara (Apsara dance) this dance were originally form for royal courts. Usually perform and maintained by attendants of the royal palace. This dance was introduced in the mid-20th century and became widely celebrated as iconic Cambodian culture, often been celebrating for public events, holidays, and for tourist that visiting Cambodia.
This dance from Myanmar usually will be performed for Thingyan Festival or also to be known as Myanmar New Year that usually occur in middle of April. It more like water festival in Myanmar.
This performance is from Brunei, the performance were called Diandangan also known as a narrative conveyed orally in a melodic form. This performance is quite similar with Seloka.
This three footage is performance from Philippines. Philippines is also a multi cultural country. For this performance is very mesmerizing because I get to learned that Philippines has a unique culture. The dance, clothes, and music is very fascinating.
This dance was performed by Thailand participant. For Thailand the showed dance from north and south of Thailand, where there is different type of dance, clothes, and music tradition. Its very enjoyable because southern Thailand dance is quite familiar with one of Malaysia traditional dance.
This performance were performed by UKM student itself. This performance embark the culture of Kadazan Dusun which called Nunuk Ragang. Nunuk Ragang is one of the legends about "Ayam Hutan Sakti" that known as a King at that time. This performance caught my attention because of the dance and the music that they tried to show.
Last performance was performed by Korean. For Korean students they performed two era's which are traditional dance and K-pop. Everyone in the hall is very excited when Blackpink song were played and all started to sing a long during Korean Performance.
Last but least, this festival is very fascinating because we get to know others country tradition clothes, dance, and music. I hope in the future I can joined this kind of festival again.
